My name is K. Prasada Rao. About 11 years ago, when I thought of serving beggars, leprosy patients, the handicapped, the blind, orphaned children, and poor people by starting the Mother THeresa Evergreen Trust, my heart was deeply moved. However, my family’s financial condition was very poor. I was unable to help anyone, and this caused me great inner pain and struggle.

At that time, I was working in a Christian organization. I shared my concern with people who had a similar mindset to mine and discussed the problems of the poor and suffering with a few jobholders. When I shared my ideas with ten people, only two responded. With the money they contributed, I went to poor and needy people, found out what they truly needed, and provided it to them. After that, I would ask the beneficiaries to call the donors directly,

which made the donors very happy as well.

 

After doing this continuously for two years, we felt it would be good to start a trust, because through a trust, anyone could offer help. I prayed to my God, consulted a few experienced people, took their valuable advice, and together with ten members, selected the name “Mother THeresa Evergreen Trust"

The reason I chose the name Mother THeresa is because she served among the poorest of the poor, leprosy patients, and beggars by going directly among them and rendering great service. I believed that naming the trust after such a mother would bring goodness and inspiration. Mother THeresa, who earned the title of Saint and many honors for her service, was chosen as the namesake of the trust. With ten members, the trust was registered on December 20, 2013, under registration number 20/2020 Book IV.

 

Even before formally starting the Mother THeresa Evergreen Trust, on December 12, 2012, we conducted our very first program among leprosy patients in Anakapalli. During the winter, we distributed blankets, gave books to children, and prepared and served a good chicken biryani meal. While watching them eat, I became emotional and shed tears. Many of them had lost fingers on their hands and were eating the biryani by placing it in a deep container and using two spoons. Witnessing this deeply moved me. Based on this , the trust was officially registered on December 20, 2013, From the day the trust was started on December 20, 2013, until the year 2021, I was able to conduct all programs.

However, I faced many personal losses: My mother passed away on April 29, 2021 My wife passed away on December 22, 2022 In 2023, my elder aunt’s husband and my younger uncle passed away My father passed away on December 12, 2024 Earlier, on September 21, 2020, my younger brother also passed away.

 

We cannot bring back those who have passed away. But I decided that serving the poor, the suffering, and those in distress would bring meaning and goodness. I hardened my heart, gathered strength, and God gave me the mental courage to continue running all the trust activities smoothly.

1. From the year 2013 onwards, we have been distributing blankets, food, and medicines during winter to beggars,

leprosy patients, the blind, the handicapped, and poor people.

 

2. Once every two months, we conduct free general medical camps and free eye camps, including arranging eye surgeries. 

 

3. We distributed books, school bags, and geometry boxes to poor students in Endapalli village

of Narsipatnam and in the slum area of MURIKIWADA Ambedkar Colony, Chinamushidiwada. VSP.

 

4. For patients who are unable to afford medicines, the trust provides ₹1,000 per person toward medical expenses.

 

5. Every year on August 26, we celebrate the birthday of Saint Mother THeresa. On that day, we cut a cake, invite three elderly people, honor them,

and distribute sweets and drinks to all attendees AND DISTRIBUTED BIRIYANI PACKETS ( 50 TO 100 MEMBERS ) TO BEGGARS.

6. By the great grace of God, after 10 years since the establishment of our Mother Theresa Evergreen Trust, seeing our struggles and showing compassion, Ms. K. Venkata Laxmi of Tagarapuvalasa, through Mr. G. Ravi Kumar, CEO of Pilupu Rural Development Organisation, Srikakulam.

helped our Trust obtain the required 12A, 80G, Darpan (NITI Aayog), Trust Enrollment Certificate, and CSR Certificates in November 2025.

In addition to this, we have also been granted a Health Awareness Project. With great hope, I am praying to God

that we will begin this Health Project in February 2026.

 

Highlights of Our Health Project:

We will support those who discontinued their education due to financial problems, helping them continue their studies. We will assist families where the head of the household is suffering from poor health by helping them obtain bank loans to start small businesses.

 

We will provide nutrition and iron-rich food to poor pregnant women and conduct Srimantham (baby shower ceremonies)

for them. Through these plans, we aim to implement our Health Project successfully.
